London to Brighton Bike Ride
I was asked to design cycling t-shirt for the Herbert Smith team taking part into the highly successful annual London-Brighton Bike Ride.
This sport challenge started in 1976 with 60 Riders and a 95 Mile Route! The bike run, as we know it today in support of the British Heart Foundation, had its first outing in 1980. It now stretches over 54 miles and counts 27,000 participants, still leaving bustling London, through breathtaking country lanes and ending on Brighton’s world famous seafront.
When it became apparent that production in the UK will be prohibitive, it evolved into a cycling jersey suitable for male and female. So besides designing the logo, with the help of our regional office, I sourced an adequate supplier and co-ordinated production in China. The two blues are matching the company corporate colours. Matching eastern and western cloth sizing was a challenge!
This was the first time the team had personalised gear and they were so happy and so proud it was very rewarding.
